MAKE YOUR VOTING PLAN NOW

New York Law Has Changed.
No Excuse Needed to Request Early Mail Ballot.
No Excuse Not to Vote.

If you know you will not be in Southold to vote in person, you can request your Early Mail-in Ballot NOW. Go directly to the portal:

https://ballotapplication.elections.ny.gov/home/earlymail

Or go to this link to download a ballot application form in English or Español. Print and mail: https://elections.ny.gov/request-ballot.

You Early Mail Ballot Request must be made 10 days before Election Day - the Deadline is October 25. However, don’t wait! We strongly recommend you request your Early Mail Ballot as soon as you know you cannot vote in person.

In the 2023-2024 NY Legislative Session the "New York Early Mail Voter Act" was established.

As a result: “Any registered voter may apply for an early mail ballot. Each person must apply for themselves.” You no longer need an excuse to vote by mail. But you must request a Mail-In Ballot and meet the deadlines enforced by the Board of Election.

Please note: If you request a
Mail-In Ballot, you cannot vote at a polling location using a ballot and scan machine. If you chose to vote in person after requesting a Mail-in Ballot, you must vote by Affidavit Ballot
(also know as a Provisional Ballot).
